Just over 2 hours west of Nashville the Tennessee Safari Park opened in 2007.This unique zoo has become one of the most popular destinations in Tennessee. In addition to the Safari Park, this is a working farm with an additional 200 acres set aside for growing cotton and raising cattle. Though the family has been collecting their animals for over 50 years, the park has only been open to the public for the last 10. More than 200 baby zebras have been born at the park since the 1980s and more than 80 baby animals of other species have been born there in the past 10 years. The Safari Park is designed to let these animals roam in an environment that has a lot more room for them than a traditional zoo.
